The course started in February and goes till the end of May. Participation only for the whole season. Next weekly series start in October.

Contact improvisation (CI) is a dance form where the touch with another person is the beginning of a movement exploration. We research and devellop a range of subtle as well as highly physical movement patterns. The focus moves between the awareness of the own body and the connection to the partner’s body and movement. An exploration of movement and its continuous relationship to the physical laws.

CI supports a creative mind, spontaneity and the development of the physical abilities. Each dance is new and different and expresses the personal meeting in the moment.

This course is an introduction into the form. It aims to develop a better understanding of the basic skills and principles like listening, leading, following, rolling, sliding, taking, giving and sharing weight, falling, flowing, lifting. Sometimes we will be dancing solo, sometimes with a partner, sometimes with the whole group.
