During the day we walk, during our dream we fly. 

Contact Improvisation is a wonderful dance form, through physical contact we can experience such qualities that can enchant our movement experiences, like flying for example ! 

Focus on flyings
Technical exercices in Contact Improvisation often lead towards liftings and sense of flying. With time and practise our body finds strenght in softness, our movements rise in consciousness.
You will experience what means flying in Contact Improvisation, how does it feel to fly, how your body can be light, what are the body qualities you need to fly, and the variety of way to experience flying.



My experience with flying

Since I practise CI I was always interested in flying and I feel that now came the time to practise them together. I feel it is an amazing thing to leave the ground, and to find freedom being lost in space. It is playful, it is fun, joyful and liberating, it opens new doors to our sense of being in a human body.
In a form of an intensive training, we will have time to taste, prepare, try, embody, develop and integrate into our dance.

What we will do ?
We will practise different qualities of attention, patience and empathy, towards our partners and first of all towards ourself.

For who:
dancers, pedagogues, martial artists, movers, body workers, body therapists

Level:
This workshop is for all level dancers, previous experience in CI will definitely help. The progression and evolution of the material will depend on the group availability and engagement, we make it together!

Bio:
Grégory Chevalier (Fr/Hu)
I teach and perform Contact Improvisation, Authentic Movement and Body Consciousness based improvisation since 2012. My approach focuses on a deep and honest somatisation through touch, movement and presence, providing a safe ground before playing techniques. Somatisation is mainly inspired from Body Mind Centering that I learnt from Kálmán Ferenc. I also love seeing and being seen, creating an atmosfear for dance to become visible and appreciated from both sides, audience and dancers.
I am the main organiser of Kontaktland festival and I have recently been engaged into researching animalistic movement language through Forest Playfight and Into the Wild.
