Dear CI community,
We warmly invite you to 2nd edition of Czech Contact Improvisation Festival and PreWorkshop. We look forward to dance together after this long and challenging touchless period and we hope we will be able to practice together how to more consciously and responsibly dance our way through life.
We firmly believe that dance should be sustainable part of our lives (and that we should as society dance more) and from the beginning we aim to bring social and ecological dimension to Létanec too. We aim to develop not just as dancers but also as personalities.
This year we have a new place for Létanec. We will be hosted by a lovely former farmhouse amidst hills and meadows in Vysočina region in the heart of Czech Republic. The place is on its way to become a space for art, martial arts and body-mind practices. They have heavenly dancing space and there is more options for accommodation from sleeping in your own tent to sleeping in a tent yurt or in shared bedrooms.

THE INTENSIVE with Defne Erdur and Romain Bigé: Will WE be able to tOUch Each OTHER?
What will it mean to touch “again”? After all the sanitary obsessions with immunity, cleanness, boundaries and distance… where all contact with the foreign, the unknown, the precarious, became illegal?
Contact Improvisation is a tactful practice FULL OF TACTLESSNESS: full of the possibility of making mistakes, of falling, of giving too much weight, of tripping, of tumbling, of touching. It takes a lot of love, efforts, mindfulness, attention to one’s and the others' needs and consent, to be tactless. As we get back to practicing it, with patience, we will need to remind each other our tools to survive encountering each other, we will need to take time to put words to our experiences, and times to do-nothing, and times to jump around, and times to be stupid, and times to be tactile, and times to be distant. For the joy of contact!

THE WAY TO UNDERSCORE – we would like to bring the practice of Underscore to Létanec this year. Underscore is group experimental practice based on research and methodology of its founder Nancy Stark Smith. We wish Nancy‘s legacy to be present on Létanec this year, as this beautiful pioneer of CI and person deeply loved by the community passed away this year. On our way to Underscore we will pass through various jams and score practices to get more awareness and to be able to access complexity.
