The desert has such allure. Such starkness, clarity, and beauty. Immense canyon walls and intimate hidden places. It can be so harsh, but then you find that precious jewel of life or delicious swimming hole. We invite you to explore, play, dance, and relax in the desert with us.

Come and join us for this spacious dance campout. Come for:

-Guided dances through nature and water

-Plenty of free time to dance and explore with friends

-Contact Improv jams each evening

-Ritual and connection

We will share time in community and in body. We will bring the dance tent and floor where we can share embodiment practices and embodied play. We will wade in the stream, swim in the swimming hole (assuming there's enough water, it is the desert!), scramble up the canyon walls, watch the sun rise and set, and dance with and lean into our friends.

This will be a community campout with participant lead facilitation. Please reach out if you want to hold space during this event.

The dance continues the following weekend with the SomaSanctuary camp at Apogaea!

This is a self supporting car campout. BYO everything. Especially water! 1 gallon per day per person.

- Mike Detweiler - Mike Detweiler has been exploring how to efficiently use the body and mind in martial arts and Contact Improvisation for over almost two decades. He enjoys exploring and facilitating mindfulness and radical self expression in dance. Teaching and leading dance events are one of his favorite ways to create and support community, especially with multi-day retreats!
