Celebrating over 15 years of Contact Improvisation in India, the India Contact Improvisation community is honored to invite you for Harvest CI Gathering - a week-long gathering dedicated to practicing Contact Improvisation through dancing together.
As a community of dancers from India or living in India, we have been sharing, creating, gathering, exploring, and investigating the practice of Contact Improvisation across India.
To harvest the years of bringing this practice to many different communities, we invite you to gather, reflect, and share the dance with us.
Our vision
In times that division, conflict, and hatred penetrate communities on various levels, we contemplate the phenomenon of Contact Improvisation as a practice that actively unites and creates possibilities for building a bridge between people that are otherwise isolated. At the core of our approach and ethos for the spaces of Contact Improvisation is the listening, mutual respect, communication, openness, and willingness to investigate the unknown spaces.
Even if on a small scale, we believe that the dance creates possibilities to navigate circumstances that are extremely difficult. We are committed to researching the possibilities of co-existing, co-creating, and collaborating across our differences.
Our vision for the Harvest CI Gathering is to dedicate as much time as possible to dancing. Our program is based on jam sessions, which will be held by facilitators and supported through guided warm-ups, laboratories, discussions, and performance evenings. We intend to propose structures that can bring participants together and yet leave enough open spaces and possibilities for individual interests and collective themes of exploration to arise.

Is festival a need ?
It's a contemplation that echoes through the collective consciousness of our community. Responding to this query, we collectively decided to craft an event that evolves into profound and meaningful gathering, HARVEST - India contact gathering - Goa - India
This gathering is not just a celebration; it's a choice to come together during challenging times. To embrace, unite, to converse, and to reflect on the unfolding circumstances.
Our vision for “Harvest” to create a platform for collective Dancing. A space where the community, like a field ripe for cultivation, gathers to exchange thoughts, jam, and delve into depth of conversations. It is a time of collecting shared experiences, insights, and wisdom from the collective journey. We wish to start painting the canvas for envisioning the future, for personal and communal growth. As dancers engage in this collective harvest, they sow the seeds of resilience and community strength.
So, let the celebration be more than just a moment of joy.
Let it be a conscious decision to unite, to reflect, and to collectively navigate the complexities of the present. We go through it all to collect the good seeds. Through "Harvest" we contemplate on the potential of the dance to cultivate shared experiences, and emerge enriched and ready for the seasons yet to unfold.
