Meanwhile, like trees, we'll drink from the roots and find shared ground, continuing to be inspired by the original work. We'll work with, unfold and embody Steve Paxton's definitions of Contact Improvisation. But first, we'll begin with poetry.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗧
We'll begin with poetry and continue with poetry.
Poetry rooted in the body, poetry born out of direct experience.
Poetry of bodies meeting in silence - grounded, pragmatic, and subversive.
Please know ahead that writing, sharing and dancing with words will be part of this workshop-retreat. Silence will also be one of the teachers offering insight.
Don't worry, there will be clear structure, proposals and principles to embody. A good amount of time and space to open the body-mind, to listen, to breath and to allow what wants to happen.
There will also be sessions in Nature. We'll weave CI with Authentic Movement and Eco-Somatic practices, as a way to enrich and deepen the dance.
Finally, jamming is included as part of the work.
The workshop-retreat is can be seen as an independent event or as a preparation and tuning-in for ASSEMBLY: 3-Week Contact Improvisation Residency. Please inquire for more information.

This workshop-retreat is made for everyone who wishes to explore a heart-based approach to Contact Improvisation.
It is recommended to to have previous experience in CI, but if you are brave enough to engage for 6-days with the complete unknown, you're probably ready to join.
