We have probably all experienced that a dance can never be long enough for us, but sometimes it also happens that a relatively short improvisation seems to go on forever.
Sometimes the body and mind are well prepared, and all aspects of a particular movement or lift have been analyzed and practiced down to the smallest detail, but then the timing is off, and the contact becomes shaky and unsatisfactory.
How can we devote ourselves completely to a sequence of movements performed together with our partner(s), in which all participants do not miss the „right“ moment? And are there improvisations that consist entirely of perfect moments?
In this workshop, we want to focus in particular on all aspects related to time, such as the duration of movements, their timing and rhythm, their acceleration and deceleration, etc. We will also play with expanding and compressing our perception of time and notice what this does to our dance and our mindset.
At best, we adopt a mindset in which time no longer works against us, but is on our side. We will delve deeply into the temporal dimension of dancing, in which everything happens effortlessly, in which we are completely carried away by the flow of movement and feel as if we have all the time in the world.
