On May 1st, 2020, dear Nancy Stark Smith left her body on earth. We would like to pay tribute to her life and work on this day, May 1st. Nancy was an American dancer and one of the founders of CI. She dedicated most of her life to nurturing a growing network of dancers and practitioners around the world, in the form of workshops she organized, but above all with the editing, in collaboration with Lisa Nelson, of the magazine Contact Quarterly, which has become essential within CI and probably the most complete archive of somatic experiences, insights and questions that have arisen from CI practice.

On Wednesday, May 1st, we'll be addressing the following questions: what does CI represent for us in the present moment? How can we trust momentum, space, gravity, our bones and tissues, and each other? How can we create a safe space together, full of curiosity, risk, care and also the pure joy of being and dancing together? What can we do together that we can't do alone?
