In this intensive we will bring specific focus to the spine. Steve Paxton called it "the dark side of the body" - the other side, or the insides - the deepest layer of our body. It hold us upright with stability, but it also offers a lot of mobility and it is the structure that holds and protects the central nervous system.

The aim is to mobilize the spine and open movement pathways, bringing connectedness to our dancing, enabling us to meet with grace and precision.

We'll also open our perception to our “backspace”, I define this generally as everything which is behind us in the space, including our own back. This would, simply spoken, be half of the space, at any given moment, which we cannot directly perceive visually. Perhaps by tuning into a deeper state of listening and instict, it could be possible to know more about the space behind us, inside us and around us.
This workshop opens new inspiring spaces for dancers who already have some basic CI skills, open to all level of experience.
