INTENSIVE CONTACT IMPROVISATION WORKSHOP IN AUVERGNE!

From July 20th to 26th, 2025
(arrival Saturday the 19th, departure Sunday the 27th)

Contact improvisation will be the basis of the teaching - bodywork, warm-ups, and intensive classes during the day - jams and other performance opportunities in the evening.

This year, a particular focus will be placed on sound and music.

Progressively, throughout the workshop, listening will become a productive process of sound and therefore music, with the participation of musician Claire Marchal.

Suggestions for each day:

8h                            Breakfast
from 9 a.m.              Open space for all personal and group practices, warm-ups, yoga, meditation, etc.)

9:30-11:00 a.m.        Workshop

1 p.m.: Lunch

2-5:30 p.m. WORKSHOP

Break then diner
Evenings: Jam sessions, performance suggestions, to be arranged according to wishes and circumstances.

... Participation in Daily Tasks:

Everyone will help with meals (a cook will be present) and will help clean the studio and living space together, in small groups, during the week.

Dates:

From July 19th to 27th (including arrival and departure days). This course requires attendance for the entire period.
Arrival: Saturday, the 19th
6 days of training: 20th, 21st, 22nd, then 24th, 25th, and 26th (the 23rd is a rest day).
Departure: Sunday, the 27th

Location:

It's a remote yet relatively easy-to-access location, at an altitude of 820 m. Massiac train station (1 hour from Clermont-Ferrand by train) is 15 min away by car. Brioude train station is 20 minutes away. Accommodation will be basic but sheltered: wooden flooring in the attic, parquet flooring in the barn, about ten mattresses available, and tents are welcome in the fields and surrounding areas. Please bring your own mattresses and sleeping bags. (Details to follow!) Bathroom with hot water, two outdoor showers.

Payment, Contacts, and Registration:

€400 for the 8 days, including 6 days of training, food, accommodation, and administrative and organizational fees.
