Structure of the Retreat

🌀 Daily Sessions:
3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon.

🌿 Integration Day:
Every 4 days of work, there will be a day for integration, allowing time to breathe in what has been danced. The sea and the lake are nearby to accompany these moments of rest.

🐒 Jams:
Throughout the retreat, there will be jams with a shared beginning and closing.

Leilani Weis

Leilani Weis is a dancer, movement researcher, and Contact Improvisation facilitator. Her work focuses on exploring the body's relationship with the Earth and its surroundings, seeing dance as an act of presence and attention.
Her teaching aims to open possibilities for dancers to discover their own organic and natural movement pathways, trusting the body's biological organization and wisdom. She has taught in Latin America, North America, and Europe, while also organizing international Contact Improvisation events.
For 18 years, she has been researching the intersection between Contact Improvisation and Argentine Tango, exploring compositional musicality in the body and the dialogue between both techniques. She is part of the organization of festivals such as ItalyContactFest, IMMERSIONES, and other gatherings dedicated to the practice and evolution of Contact Improvisation.

Arlequi

Leilani began working at Arlequi in 2000, when she went to learn from Nancy Stark Smith, who had been her teacher and a major influence on her journey.
When Leilani returned to Arlequi to teach, Nancy had already left this plane, but her presence remains within the space and in her memories. Leilani remembers how Nancy taught her the importance of our roots and the generosity of being, something that continues to deeply influence her teachings.

Estructura del Encuentro

🌀 Sesiones diarias:
3 horas por la mañana y 3 horas por la tarde.

🌿 Día de integración:
Cada 4 días de trabajo habrá un día de integración para respirar lo danzado. Tendremos el mar y el lago cerca para acompañar estos descansos.

🐒 Jams:
Durante el encuentro, habrá jams con inicio y cierre en conjunto.

Leilani Weis

Leilani Weis es bailarina, investigadora del movimiento y facilitadora de Contact Improvisation. Su trabajo se centra en la exploración del cuerpo en relación con la tierra y el entorno, entendiendo la danza como un acto de presencia y atención.
Su enseñanza busca abrir posibilidades para que los bailarines descubran caminos orgánicos y naturales en el cuerpo, confiando en su organización biológica y sabiduría inherente. Ha enseñado en América Latina, América del Norte y Europa, además de organizar eventos internacionales de Contact Improvisation.
Desde hace 18 años, investiga la intersección entre el Contact Improvisation y el Tango Argentino, explorando la musicalidad compositiva del cuerpo y el diálogo entre ambas técnicas. Es parte de la organización de festivales como ItalyContactFest, IMMERSIONES y otros encuentros dedicados a la práctica y evolución del Contact Improvisation.

Arlequi

Leilani comenzó a trabajar en Arlequi en el año 2000, cuando fue allí a aprender con Nancy Stark Smith, quien había sido su maestra y gran influencia en su camino.
Cuando Leilani regresó a Arlequi para enseñar, Nancy ya había dejado este plano, pero su presencia se sentía intensamente en el espacio y en sus recuerdos. Leilani recuerda cómo Nancy le enseñó la importancia de nuestras raíces y la generosidad del ser, algo que sigue tocando profundamente su enseñanza.
