Noam Carmeli is an experienced teacher, dancer, director, and producer (and architect until 2010). For over two decades, he has been immersed in exploring the intersection of art, physical practice, and personal-social awareness.

As both a teacher and performer, Noam specializes in Contact Improvisation and group improvisation, drawing on a diverse background that includes Aikido, Ilan Lev Method (I.L.M.) and Gaga. Since 2005, he has been teaching and performing in Israel and internationally, working with professional dance companies, colleges, dance schools, and the general public.

He currently serves as CEO of the Contact Improvisation Association in Israel, co-director of Studio Tena, and co-founder of the Octet Improvisation Group. In addition, he manages the Community Dance Project for the Ministry of Culture.

With a Master’s degree focused on group improvisation as both a performance art and a practice of cultivating belonging and community, Noam brings a unique perspective to his work. His teaching blends deep technical knowledge with a strong emphasis on human connection, presence, and creative exploration.
