Rosa Valentina is a dancer, artist and architect from Southern Italy. After working in architecture and contemporary dance, she encountered Contact Improvisation, which became central to her artistic and personal research.

Her work explores movement as a tool for knowledge and as a critical space from which to rethink relationships, social patterns and our connection with the environment. She teaches workshops and artistic residencies, integrating somatic practices, improvisation and embodied awareness through experiential anatomy, breath and other body-based practices.

In Palermo, she founded a Contact Improvisation study group and organizes classes, events and jams, with the intention of contributing to the growth of a practice community in Southern Italy and nurturing the potential of the region through dance and somatic practices.

She is part of the organizing team of Mediterranea, a six-day international Contact Improvisation gathering at the foot of Mount Etna, created as a space for exchange and research between Southern Italy, the Mediterranean and the international dance community.
