Jeremy Nelson was a member of the Siobhan Davies & Dancers, Second Stride Dance companies in London, the Stephen Petronio Dance Company in New York. He has danced in works by David Zambrano, Luis Lara Malvacías and with the improviser Kirstie Simson, among others. He has received awards such as: NY Dance and performance Bessie Award for his outstanding performance and a Guggenheim Fellowship for choreography. He was head of the dance department at the Danish National School of Performing Arts and is today an associate professor in the dance department at NYU Tisch. Over the past 35 years he has taught classes/workshops in over 35 countries including Movement Research in New York, American Dance Festival, ImPulsTanz, P.A.R.T.S. and the Sasha Waltz Company… He has presented his own choreographies around the world and collaborated with Luis Lara Malvacías on a series of improvisation duets, performed in Amsterdam, Barcelona, New York, Los Angeles and at the Radial System in Berlin.
