✫ About the WORKSHOP

I warmly invite you into a space of dance and inquiry, where we can inspire and enrich our practice of Contact Improvisation together.

The workshop welcomes movers of all levels, offering tailored tools and inspiration so that each participant may be challenged, nourished, and grow in exchange with others.

Whether you wish to deepen your skills or are new to this dance form, this gathering offers a supportive space for exploration, discovery, and development.

We’ll engage in authentic and in-depth exploratory processes, deepening the physical, attunement and relational skills essential to the practice. Together we’ll cultivate a greater sense of ease and openness in our movement, and in the way we participate and collaborate through dance. Through somatic explorations, we’ll refine the biomechanics that support safe, fluid transitions between levels and effortless navigation across spaces.

We will cultivate shared balance with partners through nuanced, continuous weight distribution and core alignment — exploring ways of combining our bodies in motion with dynamic flow and responsiveness, sharing trajectories and rides. 

We'll explore presence and refine our attunement: learning to listen before speaking, to adapt before defining, to receive while expressing, to be with, before seeking to communicate. Attunement can facilitate synchronization and connection in the emergence of creative improvisational dancing, allowing us to expand our range of choices, and engage with a broader spectrum of possibilities. 

We'll dance with attention to ensemble dynamics, individual creativity, and partnering as interconnected dimensions of the Contact Improvisation practice. 

I invite all to cultivate a space that embraces diverse expressions, bodies, and levels of experience. Together we’ll nurture individual agency, authenticity, and consensual creative interactions. 

Bring your questions, and your spirit of adventure as we journey together into presence, exploratory embodiment, play, and dance.
