CONSENT AND CONTACT
Consent, agreement and disagreement are fundamental for any dialogue, any communication. The topic accompanies us throughout our live and is essential to any dance encounter. Dance, touch or certain qualities of touch are very uncomfortable without consent. But how do I achieve non-verbal consent?
This workshop opens a space for exploring non-verbal strategies that can provide a deeper dance experience through greater consent.
There is plenty of time for reflection, slowing down, and creativity. We look at how our patterns, our desires and fears are embodied and how we can deal with them. We help each other hold together in the group what may come up.
Even though consent can become an emotionally charged issue, dealing with it opens up new avenues in dialogue. The result can be an incomparably deeper dance experience.
Contact improvisation gives us a good opportunity to recognize and deal with our social patterns. Understanding consensus is an essential part of making the world a more peaceful and fulfilling place for all.
