wir freuen uns schon sehr darauf an diesem verlängerten Wochenende intensiv in die Welt der Contact Impro einzutauchen!
Und wer noch nie in Salzburg war, oder gern wieder kommt - Salzburg im Frühsommer wunderschön, und wir werden neben dem Tanzen genügend Zeit haben für gemeinsame Aktivitäten - es gibt einen Bach zum Baden direkt in Salzburg und rund herum wunderschöne Landschaft mit Bergen und Seen! Wer einen Schlafplatz braucht, bitte einfach melden! Wir finden bestimmt was! In this workshop we want to approach CI also in an artistic way - bringing a compositional mindset into the danceform as well as having a look at performative aspects in the practice.

In this workshop we will explore how the practice of contact improvisation can grow when we
develop skills of moving on our own and in ensemble contexts. We will consider how and
when to compose our choices and when to rely on the reflexes to guide our choices, drawing on
our physical intelligence.

Bringing a compositional mindset to CI and dance improvisation takes practice. The challenge
is to stay in the body while steering our choices with a lightly held poetic sensibility. The
benefits of this way of working are that one can fluidly shift from dancing in and out of contact,
incorporating a felt and imaginative sense of our body, others with whom we are dancing, and
the places and spaces we inhabit.

We will work with the development of movement, image, gesture, motif, and partnering skills.
Participants will be presented with specific exercises designed to develop the skills of mobile
support, changing levels, functional pathways, and alignment. We will develop the syntax of
touch, tone, and resistance.
