Mediterranea is a six-day residential gathering, from October 20 to 25, 2026, in Sicily, dedicated to Contact Improvisation.

Mediterranea is an invitation born from the desire to foster and nurture a community of practitioners in Southern Italy, while at the same time opening up to a broader horizon: the Mediterranean as a vibrant space for exchange and the future.

Dancing in Sicily, at the heart of the Mediterranean sea, is for us both a political and poetic act: an invitation to come together in a different, shared space-time dedicated to practice, exploration, and exchange.

The days will follow a simple yet lively rhythm:

workshops in the morning followed by jams;
jams, score sessions, and open exploration in the afternoon;
and evenings dedicated to gathering and sharing—in dance and beyond.

Between sessions, there will be time and space to rest, take walks, reflect on the material, propose activities related to the work we’ve done and for a few dips in the pool!
