This workshop offers an approach to contact improvisation and movement that welcomes both beginners and those with a regular practice.
We will explore extended sensory and somatic immersions, fostering fine listening, slowness, and bodily availability. The emphasis will be on quality of presence, inner support, and the play of relationship—rather than on lifts or falls.
The workshop will also be a space of research, where the body becomes a laboratory. We will take the time to explore gentle strengthening sequences, conscious stretching, and practices that sustain mobility, vitality, and the impulse to dance. These qualities of openness and sensitivity will allow for a more refined unfolding of coordination, where precision and inventiveness in movement can emerge effortlessly. This practice invites an intimate connection with inner movement, while opening a space of sensitive attunement to others, so that the dance may be woven through listening and shared resonance.
This workshop can complement the other contact improvisation sessions during the week (the one just before, on Wednesdays 5–7pm, or Thursdays 6–8pm), or be followed on its own as a singular journey—between research, practice, and the poetry of movement.
