Since many years Bernd Knappe
is exclusively engaged in contactimprovisation,
after freelance profession as painter, musician and architect.

He is especially interested in the question, how
people without specialised dance-background,
body-training or a certain knowledge can find an
easy, effortless and playful way into physical
improvisation as an art-form.

His field of research is along the border between the private
and the political on the dancefloor.

He supports and initiates integrative dance projects
and cooperates with "DanceAbility-International".
